As Royal Rangers (RR), we are a Christian scouting ministry that wants to bring children and teenagers closer to the Bible through adventure. Building a campfire, pitching a tent, or playing outdoor games in the forest — all this and much more fun and action are part of our RR gatherings.
We want to grow in four areas: physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially. In everything we do, we want to live by the Golden Rule:
“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you.” (Matthew 7:12)
During our outpost meetings, we learn about nature and practice different scouting skills such as cooking over a fire, camping, and hiking. Through these experiences, children and teens get to know God in a practical way. At the same time, they develop independence, teamwork, creativity, practical skills with tools, and a deeper appreciation for nature.

Our Meetings
We meet about every two weeks on Saturdays from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Our meeting point is the pavilion above Buchegg Church (Käferholzstrasse 2, 8057 Zurich). Exact dates are announced in advance on our website.
The meetings are free of charge. Children from kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome to join.
Most activities take place outdoors. In line with our motto “Ready for Anything,” we come prepared with sturdy shoes, weatherproof clothing including rain gear, a water bottle, and, if available, RR clothing.

The first level in the Royal Rangers program includes children ages four to eight. From kindergarten through 2nd grade, we explore the forest together and play fun games. We try many new things, observe nature, and build different structures with wood and ropes, such as tables. Through all these adventures, we grow together as a team and make new friends. Scouts
Scouts are children from 3rd to 5th grade (ages 9–11). The focus is on learning practical skills needed for camp life, including setting up tents and cooking areas, cooking over an open fire, knots and lashings, map and compass skills, first aid, and using different tools. Through outdoor games and exciting treasure hunts, we experience lots of action. In everything we do, we grow together as a team and learn to become more independent.

Pathfinders
Pathfinders are teenagers from 6th to 8th grade (ages 12–14). At this stage, we have already learned the basics and much more about camp life. As a team, we take on new challenges while deepening our skills and knowledge. Together we go on hikes, spend time outdoors, and enjoy campfire meals. As a team, we have many different abilities and support one another.

History
Royal Rangers was introduced in Switzerland and other parts of Europe by Hanspeter Neck starting in 1981. Over the following years, the ministry continued to grow and become established. In 1983, our Zurich Buchegg Outpost 01 was founded. Around the year 2000, the Royal Rangers program was expanded with the RR Dance ministry.
The name “Royal Rangers” expresses that we are children and friends of Jesus Christ, the King of kings. Jesus Christ, who says of Himself that He is the way that leads to life, is the role model of the Royal Rangers. His words are our compass for life’s journey. Walking together with God provides the best foundation for an adventurous, healthy, natural, and exciting scouting life.
“Rangers” means caretakers or stewards. Therefore, Royal Rangers take good care of nature and faithfully steward everything God has entrusted to them.
